Nigeria: Nearly 10,000 Former Boko Haram Fighters Reintegrated

Nearly 10,000 former Boko Haram fighters have been reintegrated into society in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno State, according to local authorities. The graduation of a final group of 720 ex-insurgents from a deradicalization programme brings the total number of beneficiaries to 9,680, in an initiative aimed at encouraging defections and strengthening stability in areas affected by the insurgency.
