Burkina Faso: More than 1.3 Million Displaced People Return to Their Communities of Origin

More than 1.3 million internally displaced people have returned to their communities of origin in Burkina Faso as of June 30, 2026, according to the government. These returns, recorded in 1,034 localities, are linked to improved security conditions in several areas regained by authorities.
