Mozambique: USD 537 million to improve connectivity
Mozambique and the United States have signed a $537.5 million memorandum of understanding under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) program, confirming the continuation of “Compact II.” Co-funded by both parties, the program aims to boost economic growth and reduce poverty, with a focus on connectivity, particularly in Zambezia Province. Planned projects include the construction of a bridge over the Licungo River, the rehabilitation of key roads around the Nacala corridor, and agricultural reforms aimed at increasing the productivity of smallholder farmers.
