Zambia : 100 permanent jobs created in Kitwe
Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema inaugurated the 136-megawatt Itimpi solar power plant in Kitwe on April 30, 2026. The initiative aims to reduce the country’s reliance on hydropower. According to authorities, the project is part of a national program which, alongside other solar installations, has already brought total production to over 800 MW. The plant created around 2,500 jobs during construction and about 100 permanent positions.
