Nigeria : 360 People Freed by Army in Boko Haram-Held Area of Borno
The Nigerian army has announced the rescue of 360 people, including women and children, who were being held captive by a Boko Haram faction in Borno State. Conducted in the Mandara Mountains after several weeks of intelligence-based planning, the operation led to the hostages’ release and the dispersal of the insurgent fighters. The survivors were evacuated to safe areas to receive medical and humanitarian assistance.
