Ghana: Government Approves Extension of Presidential Term from 4 to 5 Years

The Ghanaian government has approved a constitutional reform extending the presidential term from four to five years, while aligning the term of office for Members of Parliament. The proposed constitutional amendment will be submitted to a national referendum scheduled for 2027.
