Benin : Temporary Suspension of the Electoral Commission

Benin’s lawmakers have passed a law temporarily abolishing the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA) as part of an electoral system reform. The legislation provides for the restructuring of the body responsible for organizing elections, while its staff will be temporarily reassigned to the public administration.
